What are drop-in classes?

In these online group classes we use a combination of techniques including, embodiment practices, breathing techniques, visualisations, mindfulness, sound & movement meditation.

They offer all the benefits of meditation and help you to release stress, cultivate self compassion and boost the wellbeing of your body, mind and spirit to gain inner peace and clarity.  

Where?

ZOOM VIDEO CONFERENCE 

Zoom is a fabulous video conferencing software that allows us to connect all around the world at the same time. Once you register you’ll receive an email confirmation with the link that will get you in to the class.  

When?

Morning Sessions

Monday – Saturday 8-8:30am (Melbourne time)

You just have to confirm via email which day you want to attend.

Frequently asked questions

WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE THAT DAY AND TIME?

No problem! This class will be recorded and the video and audio recording will be sent to everyone who registered. This means you can participate and gain the benefits of this guided class no matter where you are in the world and you have the recording to practice anytime you like. 

NOTE: If you’re not a member and only do a Drop-in, you’ll be able to access the the replay of the class you drop-into only for a limited time.

DO I HAVE TO SIT, STAND, LIE DOWN?

There is no rule about the position the body needs to be in for these classes. I encourage you to listen to your body and do what is right for you.

Wheather you choose to sit, stand or lie down, it is important to have a straight spine. 

If during the session you are experiencing discomfort it is ok to change position.  If you do change position, do it with mindful, conscious awareness and listen to the guidance that your body provides you. 

Some of the breathing techniques are best done from the seated position but if this is the case I will make you aware of that during the session. 

WHAT DO I NEED TO PARTICIPATE?

The great thing about these classes is that you don’t need anything! You can do them almost any where any time! 

However, here are a few things that you might like to consider to make you even more comfortable during the sessions;

  • During meditation you may be in the same postion for a period of time so wearing loose comfortable clothing that doesn’t cause any restriction is advisable.
  • As you release some of the trapped energy in the body this may happen in a number of physical ways such as a release of sound, movement, water from the eyes or a change in body temperature. So it can be nice to have access to a blanket, some water and tissues near by. You may not ever need them but they are there if you would like them.

WHAT IF I CAN'T MEDITATE?

There are many myths around meditation that lead people to believe that they can’t meditate but they are not true. Everyone can meditate. In fact you are probably already experiencing short moments of it in your life already and are just not aware of it. 

There are also any styles of meditation so it is just a matter of finding one that suits you! This is why these classes are fantastic because they will introduce you to a range of different meditation techniques. 

DO I HAVE TO TURN MY CAMERA ON OR TALK IN THE GROUP?

I always love to see your smiling face, but if you are not comfortable having your camera on then that is totally ok too. You do what is right for you in the moment. Don’t let any shyness hold you back from these wonderful classes.

One of the wonderful things about meditation is sharing your experience. This helps everyone in the group learn that everyone responds to the session differently and that is totally ok and it will be different every time. At the end of the session I leave some time for people to share if they want to, and encourage you to do so. However, if you are not comfortable you don’t have to or you could always put a message in the chat box.

WHAT LEVEL ARE THESE SESSIONS SUITABLE FOR?

It doesn’t matter if this is your first time meditating or you have been doing it for years. These sessions have something for everyone and are a great way to build a consistent practice with the support of a group. niques.

As someone who was unable to work due to chronic illness I totally get that sometimes we just need a little bit of help. That is why I reserve some spaces in my live classes for those who may need just a little bit of support at this moment of time. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A GROUP CLASS?

There are a number of benefits to a group class. The main one being that it is a fantastic way to build a regular consistent practice!

  • Sometimes having the accountability of a group is what we need to prioritise the time to actually turn up and do it.
  • Meditating with someone else enables you to tap into the support of another human being through their nervous system by what is known as resonance or co-regulation.
  • It is an affordable way to get guidance and tools that you can also take away with you for life. 
CAN YOU RUN A SESSION FOR OUR GROUP?

Yes of course I can. I run sessions for schools, workplaces, retreats, hens nights and other everyday or special occasions.  I would be honoured to run a session for your group. This can be done both on line or in person. Please contact me so we can design something that is right for your unique requirements.

    Yes you can.
